Improve Your Smile with Invisalign: What You Need to Know

Improve Your Smile with Invisalign

Invisalign is the modern solution for improving your smile without changing your lifestyle. You get all the amazing benefits of traditional wire braces without the discomfort or inconvenience.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a product created from a mold of your teeth. Each aligner is slightly different than the previous one. The aligners provide slight resistance to the teeth moving them into alignment over time. They are shaped to fit your teeth tightly and should not pop off on their own. Once you are happy with your smile, you simply continue to wear a retainer, the same as you would with metal braces. Invisalign can be used to straighten your teeth, fix overcrowding, and make gaps disappear.

Who is a candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign treatments can be beneficial for both teens and adults.  It is a very small lifestyle adjustment with a huge impact. If you would be a candidate for traditional metal braces then you should be a great candidate for Invisalign treatments.

How long will I have to wear Invisalign aligners?

Dr. Dan and Dr. Tracy will evaluate your teeth and create a treatment plan to transform your smile into the smile of your dreams. Depending on the complexity of your case you could have the smile you want in as little as 6 months.

You will wear your Invisalign aligners 20-22 hours per day only removing them to eat, brush, or floss. With consistency, you will see your teeth shift into place with each new aligner.

What adjustments will I need to make?

In contrast to the metal braces, you will not need to change your diet due to having the Invisalign as you simply remove it for eating and drinking. You will need to brush your teeth after each meal and before putting the aligner back on. The reason for this is that these aligners can be stained by the foods that you eat which can increase the chances of tooth stains and cavities. A simple brush of your teeth will make sure that this does not happen.

How much does Invisalign cost?

The cost of Invisalign is similar to the cost of traditional metal braces. Just as some insurances cover traditional braces they may also cover Invisalign. Your insurance may also cover a percentage or a certain dollar amount to be deducted from the full price. Our incredible team will talk to your insurance provider to find out how much you can save with Invisalign.

How do I clean the Invisalign?

Cleaning the Invisalign is simple. First, you brush the aligners to remove any large particles. Second, you rinse with Invisalign Crystal Cleaners or special cleaning tablets to clean and disinfect the aligners. Finish by rinsing the Invisalign in warm water.  You’re done! It’s that simple.

Anything Else I should know?

Invisalign works by taking an electronic scan of your teeth and virtually planning every step in the process. Using state-of-the-art technology, you can see what your teeth will look like after your treatment is complete. This also means that any lost or broken aligners can be easily replaced because each aligner is saved and can be recreated without additional molds or lengthy manufacturing processes. If you lose or break your Invisalign make sure that you call Dr. Dan or Dr. Tracy so that they can help you get a replacement as quickly as possible.
