If dental fear and anxiety have kept you from seeking the treatment you need, you’re in the right place. Sedation dentistry has helped countless people take control of their dental health.
What Is Sedation Dentistry?
Sedation dentistry uses medication – ranging from anti-anxiety medication to general anesthesia – to help patients relax in the dental chair.
Dental fear and anxiety is extremely common and can often result in patients avoiding dental treatments altogether. With sedation dentistry, that fear and anxiety is eased, allowing you to stay on top of your dental health.
Other reasons patients choose sedation dentistry:
- Very sensitive teeth or oral nerves
- Sensitive gag reflex
- Fear of needles
- Difficulty numbing the mouth or resistance to local anesthetic
- General anxiety disorder
No matter your reason for choosing sedation dentistry, you can expect judgement-free, compassionate care from Sedation Dental Care at Raleigh Smile Center.
What to Expect
Dr. Davidian is specialized in sedation dentistry and tailors your sedation to your needs and comfort level.
Most patients feel that they have slept through the entire appointment. We most commonly hear, “I remember taking some pills and the next thing I remember is going home.” Most patients remember little or nothing about their treatment. You will need someone to bring you to our office on the day of your sedation appointment and you MUST have someone take you home afterwards.
Types of Sedation We Provide
- Nitrous Oxide/Laughing Gas
- Oral and IV Sedation
- General Anesthesia
Safety is our top priority. Dr. Davidian is trained in sedation dentistry techniques and procedures, and continues to advance his knowledge.
